Christmas in Texas

We weren't necessarily on a schedule of when we were going to get home, we mostly just wanted to keep an eye on the weather and be safe. We thought we had done a pretty good job, but apparently mother nature is just too unpredictable. The journey home was long and rain-filled, but thankfully we did avoid the freezing rain and snow. Once we got home we were able to enjoy Christmas with my side of the family including Grandma and Grandpa Gruhn! What a blessing.

Christmas Day

Santa had told the girls early this year when they visited him that if you leave water out for his reindeer and Rudolph takes a drink, his nose turns the water red! :)

The stockings were hung by the staircase with care....The funniest part about this is that it has always been our tradition that we sleep out by the Christmas tree on Christmas Eve. Well, let's just say that four friends who had to stay up late playing cards kept bumping into things and even setting off noisy toys while trying to stuff some stockings! I think Santa himself could've been quieter!





































I was so excited to see Gabie open her present as it wasn't easy to find and I knew it was exactly what she wanted! She was thrilled!
