Happy Halloween!

We enjoyed a trick-or-treating hayride this year with a bunch of friends from school. The girls had a lot of fun - although Micaiah didn't come with us. Since she had already enjoyed the fall fest, she stayed home with nana, papa, stephanie, travis and daddy to hand out candy. The girls didn't really want to do the whole Wizard of Oz thing again since not everyone was joining in so I let them raid the dress up clothes and previously used costumes to pick out something to wear for trick-or-treating. Eliya decided to be the same kitty she was last year. Gabie decided to be a dancer and Rachel was a cow. They were adorable!

Curving Pumpkins

We enjoyed carving a family pumpkin - each of the girls drew a different part ~ Eliya did the eyes, Rachel the nose and Gabie the mouth. They each wanted to carve their own part, but I put my foot down and said we've had enough hospital visits for one year :) We also enjoyed baking the seeks in some seasoning salt - delicious!

Fall Festival

Our school has a great fall festival with food, games and all kinds of activities. We dressed as a family for the Wizard of Oz. The girls loved the bounce house and hay ride. All evening they begged to do the pony rides - I finally caved at the end, and as you can imagine that was not easy for me to do! But I do not wish to put my fears on them. There was also a petting zoo, face painting and all kinds of thing. We had a great turn out and a lot of fun!

Houston Zoo

Eliya's class was going on a field trip to the Houston zoo. I was so blessed to be able to find a sub so that I could go along and have a special day with her. It was wonderful! We got to see baby elephants and lots of other animals. I have to say that I don't think it compares to the Omaha zoo, but it was pretty awesome - and the best part was the one-on-one time of mom and daughter!
