Supper

I have made home-made pizza from scratch a few times, but this time decided to try the boxed version of the same concept - it wasn't too bad.

Their favorite part was putting the cheese on top - I have fond memories of the same thing from making pizza with my mom growing up.

I'll just eat the box!

Hooray for pizza!!!

For Mina

We are feeling rather ambitious in taking on the building of a doll house. It's for our little Mina Reicle, which since she isn't even one yet, i didn't figure we would ruin the surprise too much by posting our work. I was so proud of the girls for doing such a good job and helping (and proud of Mark for having the patience to let them!) It was a fun family project this afternoon.

Eliya helped with the tools.

Gabie was in charge of getting parts.

Oh Yeah!

I almost forgot to put the Easter morning pictures on - I guess we got busy with other things, but when i went to upload the video today, I realized I hadn't done that yet, so here are they are...

Soon To Come

I do have an adorable video of the girls, and just haven't had a chance to upload it yet, so I will hopefully get that done tomorrow - it's Elie and Gabie reading to each other :0)
And here it is...

As for other news --- isn't it supposed to be spring?!??! Did I mention that we got a foot of snow last night??!!!!?!?! YUCK!!! Actually, if it had been Christmas it would probably have been one of the prettiest snows I've ever seen, however, being March....sigh, will it ever be spring?

A little get-away

Gabie got on this kick of being in love with "Teddy" at Mount Rushmore. We took the path around and everytime trees of rocks blocked her view she'd start saying "where's teddy, where's my teddy?" very concerned. She was quite fond of the 'faces' as she called them. Elie and Rachel slept through the long trek around, but Gabie had a ball.

The firehouse was a great place to eat - and fun things to pose with too

Hooray for a fun few days get-away. We met my parents in rapid city on Easter Sunday and had a fun couple of days of shopping, touring and entertaining. We went to the new indoor waterpark which was a huge success with Elie (nana and papa kept the other two for us), hiked around mount rushmore, shopped, went to the unique Firehouse restaurant and went to Chuckee Cheese and even stopped at Wall Drug - wow, what a fun trip! I remembered the batteries for the camera and forgot the camera itself this time, but thankfully nana had hers along so once I get a chance to down-load the pics off of her camera I will add them to the blog. Thanks for checking in and we hope you all had a blessed Easter!

Dye

After the big easter egg hunt Kirstie came home with us to dye some easter eggs - she and Elie had fun, but it was Gabie that really took to the dipping and dripping mess - we got a fun video of her taking an egg and literally throwing it into each of the cups. We had quite a mess by the time she was through.

Easter Eggs

Alli helped Eliya check out the big prize.

Gabie didn't think too much of the whole ordeal.

Rachel enjoyed checking out the easter bunny.

We went to the GIA Easter egg hunt this afternoon. The girls had fun hunting for eggs - and we had a special treat...Eliya won the grand prize easter basket with all kinds of candy, games and toys inside - wow what a treat!

Easter Baskets

We had our Easter a little early this year since we will be leaving right after church tomorrow to meet my parents out in Rapid City. So the girls got to have double the Easter basket fun with their baskets from mom and dad and grandma and grandpa. We also had our Easter dinner early too, with pie for desert :0)

Goofy Napper

How can this be comfortable?!

Good morning!!!! Peek-a-boo!!!

Elie's Special Day

Today was Eliya's special day to have mom and dad to herself. She decided she wanted a 'real' tea-party. She also wanted make-up (is anyone else laughing at the irony that I have such a girly daughter) Real meaning she wanted mommy and daddy to dress up and she wanted Paige to come too. We all formal-ed out and I went all out and got out the fine china for this special occasion. She was thrilled and we had a fun morning of tea-ing :0)

Daycare Hunt

The girls still get to have grandma Bonnie watch them on Thursday mornings while I teach preschool, but their daycare had their Easter egg hunt this afternoon, so even though Thursday isn't normally a daycare day for them we went for a fun party. They had cute little bunny ears to wear and found lots of eggs. I got to read stories to the group while the eggs were getting hidden. A lady from our local paper even came and took pictures of the group - so cute with all their bunny ears! I had a couple of those too, but will fore-go putting them on a public web-site and just stick with our little cuties :0)

Project Time

I found a cute idea in a magazine for displaying the girl's 'artwork' ~ create a clothsline on the wall and clip their various projects to it. Of course they had these fancy things you could buy to do all this, but I got creative and bought clothspins for $1, and let the girls paint them and then sticker them. We used some twine and nails, and got some cute little wall hanging to put over the nails @ the mini mall in a bear, airplane, heart and butterfly. The girls had a blast painting the clothspins and it kept them busy for quite awhile, plus Kirstie was over so it was a fun activity to do with a friend. I think the finished product is so adorable! (and I highly recommend it!) I hope it will keep our fridge a little less cluttered.

P.S. Happy Birthday to Amanda!

March 17 (SPD)

Happy Wear-green-or-get-pinched-day everyone (SPD)! I think this is the first year I've ever paid any attention to St Patrick's Day because it fell on a preschool day, and so I planned activities with that theme in mind. Other years it's usually me that is the 'non-green-wearer' because I just never gave this holiday a second thought. We thought the girls were so cute in their green attire that we couldn't resist sharing them with you though!

This evening we had a little Easter egg hunt for play-do eggs (I had some extra after getting them for the preschoolers) so the girls had a practice run for Saturday and Sunday, and then played with play-do for awhile this evening, which of course they loved!

Hello!

I feel as though my blogging is becoming fewer and farther between, sorry! I don't even have a very good excuse - although last week was a bit stressful....I had to testify in court for the first (and hopefully last!) time in my life - on behalf of one of my preschoolers, although I can't divulge details for obvious reasons, it had nothing to do with me personally ~ I think I'd rather do jury duty. We had Kirstie spend the night Wednesday night and took her to daycare on Thursday and ended up spending quite a bit of time playing there.

Then the girls and I left bright and early Friday morning for a fun weekend away! We had a blast meeting Mary, Amanda, Rebecca and Hannah in Sioux Falls for a fun get-away. We shopped till we dropped and had a very fun hotel with a water park inside (aka water slide and huge kiddie-pool area with lots of stuff). We are all a bit worse for the wear after the water-park and all of the soreness that comes from flipping a tube on the slide half-way down and banging and bumbling our way the rest of the way down - Ouch!!! I even bit Rebecca's finger (oops!) in my screaming the whole way. I would love to share all kinds of fun pictures from our adventure, but although the camera and film disk came along, the batteries that I was so careful to charge the night before we left did not. Ugh! I did see a news report that says my forgetfulness after having children is what is supposed to happen, so I am happy to know I am normal - just frustrated at what that entails!

P.S. Did I mention it's snowing again?!?!?!

Weather

Contrarely to what these pictures would have you believe, these past couple days have been gorgeous! The girls have had 2 days in a row to get bike rides and play outside. It was a welcome break from the cold (which will be coming back by Thursday I hear). I took some pictures of them in their cute rain boots playing outside, but they don't want to talk to the computer right now - technology! Oh well, we had a lot of fun, and everyone is still healthy :0)

10 months!

You wouldn't believe how long it took me to get this shot of her actually sitting in her little 'growing' chair. She is so active now that by the time I would set her in the chair and get to the camera to snap the picture she would be off the chair and standing/crawling/stepping to something else! She is just an active little girl!

Friday

Friday was Gabie's special day with just mom and dad. Rachel and Elie went to daycare and we spent a day with Gabie - having a tea party, playing stickers, going out for hot chocolates, mommy and Gabie went to National Day of Prayer service together and daddy and Gabie played baseball wii together (she even hit a home run against him!), and making brownies. She had so much fun with getting us all to herself that she cried when I said I was going to pick up the other 2 - she of course was happy to see them though. It was a great day!

Popcorn!

Since Mark and I both have Fridays off and the girls aren't in school yet, Thursday night here, is like most peoples weekend nights - we veg out and watch movies or TV w/popcorn in bed. It's our fun family night. Tonight we finally let Rachel try out popcorn (I only say finally because she has been lungning after the bowl since she was about 6 months old!) She loved it!
