Happy Birthday Mark!

Today Mark was supposed to head to the district convention (it also just happens to be his birthday :0) however those plans were delayed and then cancelled due to a member passing away early this morning. He was actually quite nervous about going to the convention since he had 4 members currently doing the hospice thing, so it was a bit of a relief to not have to leave. He met with the family in Faulkton where they have a somewhat new steak house. Bridget was so nice to keep all 3 girls for us so I went along with him and we were able to have dinner together for his birthday. What a nice treat!

Poor Rachie

We actually made it about 2 weeks w/out being on any meds for Rachie. She started with a cough and a low fever off and on about a week ago, but it seemed like she was holding her own. Then Monday night her fever spiked and back to the doctor we went on Tuesday. It's all in her chest so she's on another anitbiotic for 2 weeks which will hopefully get us through till the ENT. She and Gabie curled up together for a little nap which was just adorable.

Confirmation Sunday

Mark had 3 8th grade confirmands this year, but only two are members at Emmanuel (the third is from St. Paul's in Seneca and will do confirmation later in May). We were invited to a meal afterwards to celebrate. Kirstie invited Eliya to go to the new Hannah Montana movie and Gabie really wanted to go to. So Gabie and mommy had a date and went and met them at the movie and then did a Walmart run together. The movie was pretty cute - even I enjoyed it, although it was a 2 hour movie which got a little long for 3 little girls.

SNOW?!

Okay so the snow thing in April really isn't very odd for us (obviously...view previous blog posts) but what was so strange is that Thursday was 90 degrees here - an absolutely beautiful day! And then Friday we had this - wierd weather! Thankfully the ground was still nice and toasty from the day before so even though the snow covered the ground it was melted within an hour.

Mark took some 'action' shots while we played hide-and-seek tonight. We played around in between cookie sheets coming out of the oven. You can see that Eliya and Kirstie were anxious to taste the first round!

Eliya figured out the bike thing (w/out training wheels) on our evening walk. She still needs help to get started, but once she goes, she's gone! Wow! I will try to get a video up here soon, but since we're due for more snow as of Saturday, we'll see...

3rd Tooth

Eliya lost her 3rd tooth tonight! We were at church eating before Confirmation questioning and she came over saying her tooth was loose, I went to wiggle it to see and it just came right out in my hand. hiding the tooth under the pillow.

Meanwhile the weather has been so nice that I was able to get out spring clothes for the girls - Gabie at 3 1/2 is wearing what Eliya wore at age 2 :0) but she loves all the purple! (that was Eliya's favorite color at that age, and gabie's current favorite color).

Rachel is climbing more then ever and has now learned if she drags the container of dogfood over by Max's kennel she can get on top of it - don't ask me what the allure is, but she's quite proud of herself when she gets up there.

Found It!

We finally found the camera disk after many careful searches - yay! So we are sharing some bedtime pictures with you. Today was an absolutely beautiful day - we spent a lot of time outside :0) Tomorrow supposed to be even nicer - hooray! Life here is busy with the preschool year winding down - we only have 7 days of school left! Tomorrow is picture day - next week progress reports and then preschool graduation (which just happens to fall on Eliya's birthday!).

Slight Glitch

We cannot find the disk to our camera so we don't have any pictures and things have been pretty quiet, just thought I'd update so no one would worry! :0)

Rachel Update

Today Rachel had the kidney/bladder tests done. Thank the Lord they came back negative! Of all the things that could be causing her bad infections, this was not the one we would've wanted. The test went okay - she kept saying (screaming) "All done! All done!" It was pretty quick and everything looks good. So she now has an ENT apt on the 19th of May (I'm hoping they can get us in a little sooner then that, we'll see). And most likely the tonsils and adnoids will get removed soon after. They were quite swollen and they are suspicious that they are harboring fluid/infections. Thanks for all the prayers - we'll see how long we can go this time w/out her being sick... :0)

Training Wheels

Eliya is wanting to try to ride w/out training wheels this summer. Well, she is getting a new bike for her birthday in a couple of weeks (unbeknownst to her) and so we thought it would be a good time to practice w/out training wheels since this bike is closer to the ground. Her new bike does have training wheels on it, but hopefully she won't have to use those for very long - we'll see how quickly the balance thing comes along. Today was an absolutely BEAUTIFUL day - no wind and warm temps yay! Perhaps spring is finally here!

Finding the Easter Baskets

Waking up, following the trail and finding the hidden baskets - such fun!

Easter Dresses

Dying Easter Eggs

Eliya and Gabie got to dye eggs at Bridget's house this year, so we didn't do too much with it this year. They all did a couple and I only got one shot of Eliya. (sorry this is rather messy and not a camera-friendly activity).

Grandma and Grandpa Visit

Grandma and Grandpa Moldenhauer came for the Easter weekend. Grandpa got to give lots of piggy-back rides and grandma got lots of snuggles and story time. They brought lots of fun gifts and games. They also had some great Easter buckets for the girls. They loved all the extra time with them. Thanks for coming!

Pepe and Maddie had their second birthday party at a hotel in Pierre. We went down for the day and enjoyed the pool, cake and ice cream and just having fun.

Easter Books

The girls were so excited when the mail came today with a package to them from Grandma and Grandpa Haase in Lincoln filled with Easter books - as you can see they wasted no time checking them out! (P.S. If you're wondering about the swimming suits, they were gearing up for Pepe and Maddie's party the next day.) Thanks for the great books!

Good Morning!

I heard some little girl voices this morning and when I went to check things out this is what I found...
