Staying Positive
This might be a bit forced (the staying positive side) but I think I need to...
Elie is doing much better - still having tummy troubles through the night last night, but seems much better today, and did a lot of 'entertaining' herself...more on why to come

Gabie was up through the night with a very wet cough and a fever this morning. I was hoping it was just drainage from the tubes, but took her in on my lunch break to discover bronchitis and RSV. So...we're in it for the long haul with her. She slept 90% of the day, but did perk up a little bit ago enough to look at some stories. The positive side to this, is that when he checked her ears they were clear! That is the first time I can remember ever hearing that for her for a sick or well baby check-up. Which brings us to daddy, who woke up in the middle night to the realization that Elie decided to share her stomach bug with him.
So I was feeling extrememly guilty leaving for work preschool this morning (and afternoon) but they all seemed to sleep all day anyway. So far I am staying healthy and fine (knock on wood!). Hopefully that will continue so I can get the rest of them healthy again too!

Still Sick
You ever had one of those days? I dread updating lately cause I feel like all I ever say is that one or the other of the girls is sick. I keep hoping that they are just 'building up their immune systems' by being in daycare or something, but this is getting old
elie gave us a little scare today - she was totally out-of-it and lethargic this morning but not running a fever. It took awhile to realize she still has the stomach bug and is just weak from getting sick and not eating. So we got some medicine and were able to keep some crackers and liquid down this afternoon.

An Early Night
Little did I know that 'heavy snow' was actually code for 'no more snow' :0) The girls enjoyed playing games today. They spent the day in their jammies - we had a long night cause something in Elie's tummy didn't agree with her. She seems to be fine today, although very tired and clingy. I even caught her curling up for a nap in the blanket bucket! Gabie decided she was ready to go to bed and started tucking herself in. We are all pretty exhausted after a couple of night of no sleep this week so we're turning in early tonight.

More Snow
I've been very bummed today as we had finally started to see the ground again, but not for long, as it grew dark we already had at least 6 new inches of snow on top of what we already had - and that's not counting the 'heavy snow' we're going to get tognight. What happened to the ground hog seeing his shadow? We need some spring! (I know, I know it's only February!) We did enjoy the evening though as with all the ice and snow Mark got the evening off from church, so we just hung out and had lot's of family time.

"Want some" Gabie offers to share with everyone.

Eliya decided she wanted a picture taken on the 'green wall' as she called it - you can almost see our Christmas presents from the girl's in the background, they made us picture frames with pictures of themselves at daycare, we love them!

What's an evening indoors without a horsey ride?

State Wrestling
We spent the morning at the state wrestling tournament where 6 Gettysburg guys made it. The picture doesn't quite do the gym justice as there are actually two more mats so four matches taking place at the same time. We are finally starting to grasp the point/scoring system - maybe...

It didn't take the girls long till they curled up together in the bleachers and fell asleep. They did cheer for Gettysburg though - Gabie clapped and Elie cheered "Go Austin!" Even when it was one of the other guys :0)

We had a nice visit with Mark's Faulkton nursing home residents on the way home where we just popped in to say hi since we had some extra time. The girls are always very 'loved' whenever they join daddy to visit some shut-ins.

Bubbles
This might take awhile to become available, but we wanted to share their giggles with all of you :0)

Aberdeen
We are staying in Aberdeen tonight both to stay close for the doctor (the whole 'just in case' thing), have some fun family time, and also because state wrestling is here tomorrow - I know, I know you're all thinking "since when do Mark and Allison care about wrestling?!" well, since Austin Lake (john and bridget's son) made it to state as an 8th grader! So we are going to cheer him on tomorrow before going home.
The swimming pool here was so much fun - they had a huge <1 foot kiddie pool with frog-slide that was perfect for the girls!
After awhile Gabie let us know that she was just tuckered out from a long day, so we called it quits, but we all had fun, and Eliya finally got her promised reward for being totally potty trained (getting to go swimming) with no accidents for two weeks now!!! Yay!
Gabie's Surgery
I'm outta here!
As you can see Gabie actually somewhat had fun today...well, at least pre and post-surgery parts did. When they called me into the recovery room she was a little shook but seemed to calm down with me. I was a little concerned that she has not gained any weight since her 1 year check-up (3 months ago) but after all they found in her ears it's not surprising that she didn't have an appetite for awhile. He said that both her ear drums were bulging and one looked as though it had started to rupture - yuck! Poor thing! He drained all the gunk and put the tubes in and she should be as good as new! Thanks for the prayers!

Ash Wednesday
Our junior high youth group has a soup supper before each of the Lent services so even though we didn't do the Ash Wednesday service, we did enjoy the soup and deserts. We are trying to get to bed early tonight as we have to be on the road by 4:30 tomorrow morning for Gabie's ear-tube surgery. Say some extra prayers for her tomorrow - I know it will be fine, but I'm a mom so I guess worrying comes with the territory, I'll feel better when they hand her back to me.

Summer-time
We found Eliya in the kitchen today and when asked what she was doing she said 'going swimming' We felt bad that she thought this had to take place in a tupperware bowl, but we've been constantly telling her it's too cold so.....
....Mark pulled the pool out of the rafters in the garage and we filled it up with warm water in the basement, and the girls had an early summer-time fun afternoon as you can see :0) It's our way of getting excited for the above zero temperatures that are coming this week... we hope!
Bye-Bye

Cute As Can Be
I was in shock when I got the in car this morning - did you know car thermometers could go under negative 20?! So we continue to enjoy all the snow from the indoors playing games and having fun. The girls are both excited tonight that Nana and Papa are on their way here for a couple of days - good thing they're used to the cold too!
